  2. I do do it myself. And it’s the only time I get to make love to someone I really care about…. Me!

  4. These are awful. They are perpetuating poor stereotypes about women and telling men that they must be able to work around he house or else their women will leave them for someone they presumably have only met a couple minutes ago. Its 2008 people, lets get beyond such sexist tactics.

  6. I’m a guy. I like ads playing on sexual strings… I like ads playing on sexual strings when it appeals to my sexual ego and lets me see myself as a strong and successful sexual being in connection with whatever product being advertized. I want to buy it. Now when i feel insecure, weak or dishonored in combination with a product, my mind will progressivly work to remove both the new and unwelcome feelings, as well as the existens of the product. Everytime i for some reason think about that product my mind will try to escape to something else, and i will mooost likely buy something from the next shelf or shop…

Sorry, effective branding (guerilla?) but a total miss in short and long term if you want to increase sales

  7. funny facts: Leroy Merlin is quite conservative, actually; and Leo Burnett is not LM’s agency in Brazil.
Strangely enough, i’ve never seen this campaign in Brazil. It makes me wonder…

  8. These advertisements are assuming the potential consumers’ significant others are cheating whores. Insulting much?

    Comment by Obvi — February 19, 2009 #

  9. While the ads are funny, the wife is more likely to cheat on her husband at her work. So, maybe if the reality is the inverse… Your wife is more likely to cheat on you with somebody at her job.
