Skittles have launched a new website! Compiling all of the social and user-generated media that exists around their product, as opposed to providing an actual destination, the new site is just a means of driving visitors to this content. With a little navigational overlay, each tab drives you somewhere else online where skittles content lives. Choose videos and you are driven to Youtube. Chatter takes you to a Twitter search of every mention of Skittles. Pictures takes you to Flickr and of course Friends takes you to Facebook…

They are letting the consumers conversations speak for their product.

Embracing social and user-generated content has its risks, but companies cannot afford to ignore it. Bringing it to the center of their customers attention like this isn’t necessary…

In return, those who donate £3 or more will receive a screen credit as executive producer.
The students aim at raising a million dollars by involving thousands of sponsors. And while they are at it, they also hope to get in the book of Guinness World Records for the movie with the longest list of credits.

Nokia recently launched its first video calling phone, the 6680, in New Zealand, driven by an interesting semi-serious strategy. “With the advent of video calling it’s harder to lie about where you are when you’re out having a good time drinking or seeing your mistress or whatever — so they put up backlit posters around nightspots that can be used as backgrounds when making a call. Now you can still claim to be at the gym or the supermarket, or working late at the office.”

As for the concept, there were already a number of big television ads, from Vodafone and Telecom, explaining what video calling is all about, so their idea was to announce the arrival of Nokia’s video calling in a different way and on a much smaller budget.
